Highland cabin starts on site
Exciting news from the Highlands as our latest retrofit project starts on site. Over the next few months, we’ll be transforming an existing cabin into a cosy getaway through sensitive environmental upgrades, following a low carbon fabric first approach.
The existing building is constructed from interlocking timber logs, which form all internal and external walls and are fully exposed without insulation or linings. Our design aims to retain some of this unique cabin character, while creating a welcoming and relaxing family space for three generations to enjoy. Woodfibre insulation will be wrapped around the existing structure, finished in locally sourced larch cladding.
Carefully proportioned extensions to the side and rear will help make the most of the layout, adding a shower room and new living spaces with views of the surrounding woodland.
