Living Spaces

This attractive C-listed 19th Century stone lodge house had, due to its restricted internal scale, lain uninhabited for a number of years. Our clients wanted to breathe new life into the property and make it a usable and enjoyable home suitable for modern living.

The majority of the external fabric was retained and refurbished while the inside of the house was reconfigured to create one large open plan living space with new rooflights bringing light into the centre of the plan.

The kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms are accommodated in two timber-clad extensions to the South and East. The South extension follows the fall of the site to create extra accommodation at lower ground floor, keeping the height of the extension below the eaves of the original house.
