New Town Flat

Living Spaces

This Grade A listed property has been recombined from two flats into a single dwelling.

The centre-piece of the refurbishment is the reinstatement of the dramatic spiral stair that connects three floors.  The lower part of this staircase had been covered over and used as a boiler room.

A sensitive restoration was undertaken which involved relocating the hot water tanks, cleaning the old stone treads and replacing the cast iron balusters which had been sawn off.

The mahogany handrail was matched exactly and french-polished so the new handrail winds uninterrupted between the levels.
