Lucy joined Helen Lucas Architects in 2005, with a background in community, arts and hospitality projects. She is passionate about working closely with clients to realise the full potential of the homes they live in and the businesses they run.
As Senior Associate, Lucy has overseen and delivered a diverse series of projects, including domestic refurbishments and extensions in listed buildings and conservation areas, café and restaurant developments in historic buildings, and remote new-build constructions, including a CLT-constructed cabin.
Lucy has a strong interest in all aspects of sustainability, from re-use and retrofit, reducing embodied carbon and working with bio-based materials. In 2024, she qualified as a Certified Passive House Designer, further strengthening her technical expertise in low energy, low carbon building design, which she applies across projects throughout the practice.
Lucy is currently an External Examiner for the Newcastle University Architecture BA Honours Degree.
