Part II Architectural Assistant

Ailie studied at the University of Dundee and graduated with a dual accredited Masters in Architecture with Urban Planning in 2023.

Her thesis focused on the environmental impact of construction materials and investigated the possibility of regenerative construction. She investigated bio-based materials in both new build and retrofit construction alongside changes to planning and land use policy to support local production in Scotland.

Ailie joined Helen Lucas Architect in 2023 as a Part II Architectural Assistant.  She was drawn to the precise detailing and focus on sustainable material choices as well as the quality of work retrofitting existing historic buildings and innovative new build projects, specific to people and place.
