James started with Helen Lucas Architects at the end of 2012 to build on residential experience gained working with Ewan McIntyre Architects, Malcolm Fraser Architects, and with private Scottish developers.

After graduating with a BA(Hons) in Architecture from De Montfort University in 2006, he was attracted to Scotland where he acquired a Diploma in Architecture at the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow in 2011 and completed his professional practice qualification in 2014.
